Planning, Development and Technologies
The Planning and Development Division is responsible for:
Information management, data collection and their transfer: collection, receipt, storage and management of information and data regarding production and delivery systems, technological monitoring in the field of development.
Preparation of a long-term plan: preparation of an integrative development plan in the field of production, starting from forecasting power plant operating regimes and fuel consumption at each station, optimization of the development of the production system, development of models for planning the production system and development of models for examining trade planning.
Development planning in the production section: planning the production section, including a recommendation on the required production and storage capacity, as well as the optimal mix, location and timing for combining production and storage means, and in addition determining criteria for the development planning of the production section.
Development planning for the delivery system: planning the delivery system, starting from processing forecast data through the design of the transmission system, system engineering characterization of the transmission facilities and main equipment, and building the multi-year development plan for the delivery system.
Engineering and statutory planning: statutory planning and promotion of outline plans (including environmental impact assessments) of the transmission and production transmission projects related to the development plan.
Determining network regulations and system requirements: determining and publishing network regulations and system requirements from the production units in the various technologies. Performing technical coordination.
Conducting surveys and committing to connecting facilities: conducting planning and connection surveys and committing to connecting facilities, technical coordination.
Inspection of the delivery system facilities and the generation facilities connected to the delivery system: determining the required tests and performing technical coordination for the facilities prior to their commercial operation.
Guidance regarding the development of the distribution section and conducting surveys in the distribution network: guidance to the distribution licensee on all aspects related to the connection points and the mutual effects between the delivery system and the distribution system and systemic requirements related to the absorption of distributed generation and storage in the distribution system.
Research and development of the electricity sector: preparation of technology baskets of energy production and environmental quality, ongoing monitoring of innovations in the field of generation technologies, management of a database of production and storage technologies in the system and examination of the impact of renewable technologies on the system.
