System Operation unit
The Operations Division at NOGA - ISRAEL INDEPENDENT SYSTEM OPERATOR LTD began operating in mid-2021 as part of the electricity reform process.
The main functions of the division:
- Remote operation management and supervision of the generation, transmission and distribution systems
- Ensuring the survivability of the electricity system, the quality and reliability of electricity
- Economic optimization to minimize the cost of electricity generation within the framework of economic constraints
- Planning of short and medium-term electricity sector maintenance activities
- Handling private producers (in cooperation with the Planning and Grid Services Division & Market Operation) - support from the initiation stage to establishment
- Producing electricity consumption forecasts and renewable energy production
- Producing periodic reports for a wide range of entities in the energy market
- Investigating and drawing lessons from events in the electricity system
- Operation and maintenance of data systems, control and monitoring, communication systems between the Company's facilities and the entire electricity system
